Kiliaris resigned

12/03/2015 13:11
Stelios Kiliaris, member of the BoD of the Central Bank of Cyprus, resigned officially on Thursday.

In statements to journalists after the end of the stormy session of the House Institutions’ Committee, Mr. Kiliaris spoke of clear, as he said, conflict of interest of the CB Governor Chrystalla Georghadji.

He urged Mrs. Georghadji to submit her resignation as the only solution.

He noted that he is ready to testify in a possible police investigation if needed.

Asked whether there is a possibility for other members of the Board to submit their resignations, Mr. Kiliaris said he has advised Giorgos Sirihas to remain in place "as a counterweight to the situation formed in the CB”.
