The Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), Dr Panicos Demetriades, departed for Lithuania on 11 September in order to participate in the Informal Meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), which is taking place in the framework of the Lithuanian Presidency of the European Union.
According to a Central Bank announcement, Dr Demetriades is participating in discussions relating, inter alia, to the economic outlook and financial stability of the EU, the future shape of the financial system and the Banking Union as well as the fight against tax evasion.
